What is StopForumSpam?
StopForumSpam is a community database tracking IPs, usernames, and email addresses used for forum spam and abuse. Their blocklist is widely integrated into forum software (phpBB, vBulletin, MyBB, Discourse), WordPress plugins, and CMS registration forms. When your IP or domain appears in StopForumSpam, websites using their API automatically reject registrations or posts from associated addresses.
Why StopForumSpam flags legitimate domains
- Your IP was used to send spam messages to forums or discussion platforms
- An account registered from your IP was identified as a spam bot or fake account
- Your email domain appeared in spam registrations submitted to the StopForumSpam database
- Your shared hosting IP was associated with spam bot activity from other tenants
- Automated forum spam campaigns were linked to your IP or hosting infrastructure
What a listing means for your business
StopForumSpam is integrated into millions of website registration forms and forum software installations. A listing means users with your IP address, including legitimate customers trying to register, are automatically rejected on websites using StopForumSpam validation. This can prevent customers from creating accounts on your own site if you use their API.
How BrandsDefender gets you delisted

Frequently asked questions
How does StopForumSpam affect my customers registering on websites?
Websites using the StopForumSpam API automatically reject registrations from listed IPs. If your IP is listed, your legitimate customers may be prevented from registering on any website using StopForumSpam validation, not just yours.
How do I get removed from StopForumSpam?
StopForumSpam provides a false positive reporting process. Evidence that the IP or email is not a spam source is required. Our team prepares the correct submission and follows up until the listing is removed.
